Former regulators to share views with UW members

Ex-Ofwat chairman Jonson Cox and the regulator’s former chief executive Rachel Fletcher will appear together at Utility Week’s Summer Drinks next week.

Cox, who now chairs the Port of London Authority, and Fletcher, who is currently director of regulation and economics at Octopus Energy, are the guest speakers for the exclusive event for Utility Week members.

The duo, who worked together at Ofwat between 2018 and 2021, will share their views on the challenges facing utilities and in particular issues around trust and affordability.

Meanwhile Utility Week editor James Wallin will exclusively  reveal the first results from our consumer research on the affordability of energy and water, under our Action on Bills campaign.

To apply for one of the few remaining places at this exclusive event in central London on the evening of Tuesday 4 July click here.

Wallin said: “Utility Week has always been dedicated to uniting the industry and creating opportunities to share ideas and views and this is exactly what the Summer Drinks is designed to do. We have a great guest list representing  the breadth of the industry and two fantastic speakers in Jonson and Rachel. I’m looking forward to a frank and open discussion about what the rest of 2023 and beyond holds for utilities.”
