Freeze thaw increased leaks and bursts 300% for South East

Some South East Water customers have been left without water or low pressure for six days as the freeze thaw caused a 300% increase in burst pipes and leaks. The company, which is working around the clock to find and repair breaks, called on householders and businesses to check for bursts after demand climbed to an additional 100 million litres in the past two days suggesting water is being lost to customer-side leaks.
