Recently appointed energy minister Lord Callanan has hinted at “a number of upcoming announcements” on tackling residential greenhouse gas emissions. The government has refused to back a Lib Dem bill demanding all homes are brought up to Energy Performance Certificate band C by 2035, but Utility Week understands legislation is already being drafted to enshrine this commitment.
