Good Energy has appointed former financial services executive John Maltby as chairman of its board, with immediate effect.
Maltby replaces Rick Squires, who acted as non-executive chairman for Good Energy since 2011 and has now retired from the position. Squires remains on the board as a non-executive director.
Prior to his appointment with Good Energy, Maltby was the group director of the UK commercial bank of Lloyds Banking group from 2007, and has held a number of other senior executive roles throughout the financial service industry, including Natwest Group PLC, Barclays Bank PLC, Abbey national PLC, and Kensington Group PLC.
Juliet Davenport, chief executive of Good Energy, said: “John’s wealth of experience with small businesses, as well as his reputation for delivering growth for the companies he has worked for, will be invaluable to us as Good Energy continues in its development.”
She also thanked Squires for his “service as chairman during a period of significant progress for the company”.
