The government has moved to close a loophole that has allowed offshore wind farm operators to delay the start of their Contracts for Difference (CfDs) in order to take advantage of sky rocketing electricity prices. The scheme currently gives developers flexibility to determine the start date for CfD payments to account for unexpected delays.
