Industry leaders are becoming increasingly frustrated by the government's electricity market reforms (EMR). Speaking at a Westminster Forum last week, David Porter, head of energy supplier and generator association, Energy UK, questioned how long EMR would actually last.
Porter’s official message was that “in the absence of a plan B, and I am not aware of one, we have to get on with it”. However, he urged policymakers to “avoid unintended consequences” and said government must “get more serious about [EMR’s] costs and benefits”.
