The government has enacted the first step of its manifesto commitment to boost energy efficiency with a scheme to revive home insulation grants for homeowners. Most will be offered vouchers covering two thirds of the cost of energy efficiency improvements up to a maximum of £5,000, whilst the poorest households will be able to receive up to £10,000 of upgrades completely free.
