The Green Gas Certification Scheme (GGCS) has expanded with two new consumers and a new supplier being named today.
The scheme, which awarded two certificates to the Duchy of Cornwall last month, has now awarded certificates to Gas Bus Alliance and Brit European.
The organisations purchased the certificates, representing 6GWh of biomethane between them, as part of their commitment to operate sustainable transport fleets running on compressed natural gas.
The GGCS also has a second supplier, Ceres Energy, which joins Barrow Shipping as providing biomethane for the scheme.
Ciaran Burns, GGSC certification manager, said having Gas Bus Alliance and Brit European running commercial fleets on green gas “demonstrates the variety of applications for both biomethane as a fuel and for the GGCS itself”.
