How to shut down a gas network

Any future government decision against the use of hydrogen for domestic heating could leave the necessity and viability of large parts of the gas grid in question. Yet, just three years out from the policy deadline on this critical point there has been no meaningful public debate about what a possible tilt towards electrification of heat would mean for the gas network. Utility Week speaks to experts about the issues such a scenario would raise and some of the potential solutions. One message is clear: the government, regulators and the industry need to start talking about this now.
