Hudson Energy has entered the business energy supply market. The firm, which supplies about 150,000 business customers in North America, will initially supply electricity, with gas to follow.

Sales director Steve Fitzsimons, formerly of Npower, British Gas and EDF Energy’s B2B units, said brokers will favour its approach because they will receive a quote in minutes. He said brokers must sign a code of practice to do business with Hudson. Hudson is considering entering other European markets and Fitzsimons said the company had not ruled out entering the UK domestic retail market.
