South West Water expects supply in Par to be disrupted for several hours following a burst water main
South West Water has confirmed a burst main is responsible for the lack of water supply to hundreds of homes in the town of Par in Cornwall today (3 November).
The water company said it expects the disruption to last for several hours as engineers carry out “urgent repairs”.
It said the water supply will be back on by 12.10pm, thanking residents for their patience and apologising for the inconvenience caused.
A spokesperson for South West Water, said: “A burst main outside 43 Polmear Parc, Par, was reported to us at 7.10am. Repairs are under way and will be complete by 12.10pm.
“We’ve received 13 calls from customers reporting no water, low pressure or discolouration. We are keeping affected customers updated via text message, social media and our website,” the spokesperson added.
Residents in Par were also affected on 29 August when water mains sprung two leaks.
