Hydrogen subsidies set to be funded from energy bills

The cost of setting up the UK’s fledgling hydrogen production industry looks set to be supported indirectly from energy bills, the government has signalled in a new paper published alongside its strategy for the sector. The document pointed to how revenue support for the development of low-carbon electricity has been funded through levies on energy bills and supplier obligations.
