Infinis profits rose on strong wind and landfill gas performance last year, the renewable energy company revealed on Thursday.
In its first full year results since listing on the stock exchange in November, the company reported earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) of £148.4 million, up 18.3 per cent on the previous year.
Chief executive Eric Machiels said the results were ahead of expectations and the company was on track to build 130 to 150MW of wind power by 2017.
The wind generation business was the “star performer”, with four new windfarms operating for their first full year and another coming online half way through the year. Windy weather last winter further boosted output.
On landfill gas, Machiels said the operational teams had done “an outstanding job” and got “very attractive prices”.
The company has consent for two windfarms, A’Chruach and Galawhistle, and expects to start building the first in autumn.
