Infrastructure commission to back natural flooding fixes

The National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) is due to back an expanded role for nature-based solutions to help mitigate surface water run-off into the sewer systems, its chair has revealed. Sir John Armitt also warned that there must be an “honest conversation” with the public about the extra costs of inaction on making energy and water systems resilient to a more extreme climate.
