Keeping Us Connected: CWA donates PPE to ambulance crews

Scottish Water’s alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) has donated vital personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Scottish Ambulance Service to help them during the Covid-19 response.

CWA, a joint venture between Morrison Utility Services and AECOM, provided a quantity of face masks, gloves, glasses and hand sanitisers to augment the ambulance service’s supplies of PPE for frontline staff.

John Gallacher, CWA senior construction manager, said: “We know that the ambulance service, like hospitals, could use additional supplies of PPE to help them do their very important job as efficiently and safely as possible. They do a fantastic job and if some additional PPE helps them as the whole country battles against the coronavirus then we will be delighted.

“CWA staff have all the PPE they require at present, so we were delighted to be able to pass on some stock to the ambulance service. They do a fantastic job and if some additional PPE helps them as the whole country battles against the coronavirus then we will be delighted.”

Andrew Graham, head of Ambulance Services for Lanarkshire, thanked CWA for the donation and said the equipment would be “distributed throughout the ambulance service where and as required during these difficult and extremely challenging times.”
