Leading industry voice, the Energy and Utilities Alliance (EUA), has announced its new president as Elaine Lancaster of Groupe Atlantic UK & ROI Division.

Lancaster, pictured, who has been Groupe Atlantic’s chief technical officer since 2015, has a wealth of industry experience. Joining her as vice-president will be Helen Bray of Scotia Gas Networks.

Chief executive Mike Foster said: “We are so pleased to have two very talented women from within the industry at the helm of EUA, marking a shift in a sector that has, traditionally, lacked diversity.

“We look forward to working with Elaine in her new role, after serving as vice-president for the past 12 months, and I am delighted to welcome Helen into the EUA team.

“Together they provide a fresh perspective and valuable industry experience. The future of the energy industry will benefit greatly from their expertise and passion.”

Foster also thanked outgoing president, Andrew Keating, for his hard work, dedication and commitment over the last 12 months.
“His enthusiasm, and extensive knowledge has been at that the heart of many of our successes this past year,” he said.

Lancaster has worked across a wide range of roles, including in the steel industry, for Vaillant Group, and in research and development (R&D) with Baxi Group / BDR Thermea as its new technology director.

In 2011 she became R&D director at Ideal Boilers, before in 2015 changing to her current post leading R&D activity in domestic and commercial gas boilers and electronics across all brands, including the launch of the new Touch thermostat platform.

More recently, a new innovation team has been created, which sees her working closely on R&D synergies across the international research and development community.

The (EUA), which helps shape future policy direction within the sector, has six organisational divisions: Utility Networks; the Heating and Hotwater Industry Council (HHIC); the Industrial and Commercial Energy Association (ICOM), the Hot Water Association (HWA), the Manufacturers’ Association of Radiators and Convectors (MARC) and the Natural Gas Vehicle Network (NGV Network).
