Applying the Energy Price Guarantee onto unit rates is welcome news for pre-payment meter (PPM) customers, Utilita chairman Derek Lickorish has told Utility Week. The former chair of the government's Fuel Poverty Advisory Group also dismissed concerns that the package does not incentivise demand reduction, saying the majority of customers are "not profligate with energy".
