Distribution networks operators (DNOs) have released standardised registers of the distributed energy resources connected to their networks as required by a recently approved modification to the Distribution Code.
The Embedded Capacity Registers cover all assets with a capacity of more than 1MW that have an influence on the national power grid.
DNOs were mandated to compile the registers under the code modification DCP350 which was approved by Ofgem last month. They have superseded the System Wide Resource Registers they published in February as part of the Energy Networks Association’s Open Networks project.
In approving DCP350, Ofgem described the System Wide Resource Registers “positive step forward” but said they did not contain sufficient information. It said the data requirements had been set so that DNOs could meet their new obligations by adding to the existing registers, meaning their previous work would not be wasted.
You can find links to all of the registers here.
