Long-awaited wet wipe ban promised ‘before the summer’

A long-awaited ban on the manufacture and sale of wet wipes containing plastic will pass into law before the parliamentary summer recess, Defra has said. Following a consultation that received 96% support for a ban, government has moved to enact the policy that the water sector has been calling for to protect sewers and, ultimately, waterways from pollution.
