Ex-Labour leader Ed Miliband has accused the Treasury of being stuck in a “30 year old mindset” on climate change issues, with a belief that environment and economic goals are in conflict. Miliband defended the CCC’s estimate that reaching net-zero would cost one to two per cent of GDP and said Extinction Rebellion’s call for net zero to be achieved by 2025 was “changing the terms of reference about what can be done”.
