Ofwat has proposed a CSO performance commitment for PR24 to cover duration of spills and to incentivise companies to make sure monitoring equipment is working. Measures will also apply to permitted overflows to encourage an overall reduction in spills over and above legislative targets. Meanwhile, Defra said it will consult on including coastal waters in discharge reduction targets.
