Non-domestic water market operator MOSL has announced the appointment of an independent non-executive director to its board.
In addition, challenger energy supplier Together Energy has also announced new senior appointments, following an £18 million investment in the company by Warrington Borough Council.
Utility Week takes a look at these recent industry appointments.
MOSL
Anne Heal has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the MOSL board.
She took up her appointment yesterday (1 January) and will join the first board meeting of the new year on 29 January.
Heal, who has more than 20-years’ experience at board level, has previously held a number of senior roles at BT including director of strategic planning and director of corporate business development.
She was also director of regulatory affairs for BT Group, leading the regulatory negotiations that led to the creation of Openreach, where she then became managing director, strategy.
In addition, Heal has served as chair of the Thames Water customer challenge group (CCG) since 2015, which she will be stepping down from in March.
She is also a board member of the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), where she chairs its customer panel; a lay member of the General Dental Council; an independent member of the Bank of England Enforcement Decision Making Committee and a panel member for the FCA’s Regulatory Decision Making Committee.
Furthermore, Heal is also a member of the board at Elexon.
Together Energy
Challenger energy supplier Together Energy has appointed a new chief operating officer.
Kevin Greenhorn has more than 25 years’ experience in the energy sector and has served as managing director of SSE Energy Solutions and chief executive of Airtricity Supply which grew to become the second largest energy supplier in Ireland.
Furthermore Steven Broomhead, chief executive of Warrington Borough Council, has joined the board of directors.
The council recently took a 50 per cent share-holding in the business as part of an £18 million investment.
Commenting on the appointments Paul Richards, Together Energy’s chief executive, said: “Kevin’s extensive knowledge and skill set is just what we need to strengthen the board, help drive the business forward, and explore new opportunities. His local council and housing association experience will also be very beneficial to the business.
“Steven will further enhance the team’s expertise and such an appointment reflects how our business has grown and developed this year and we are excited at the potential of what’s yet to come.”
