As the Electricity System Operator (ESO) undergoes its transformation into the National Energy System Operator (NESO), it must move beyond its old electricity and network-centric focus and adopt a truly whole-system approach. This is according to former SSE executive and government advisor Keith MacLean, who also urges policymakers to give the body their full unwavering support to rebuild the country’s energy system.
