The Department of Energy and Climate Change (Decc) has approved plans for a new energy from waste generation plant in Cheshire.
The plans for the 60MW plant in Lostock, Northwich have been given consent by Decc, who said that turning waste into energy was “something of great value”.
The development will create 500 jobs during construction and a total of 50 full time positions.
A public enquiry recommended consent for the plant after hearing evidence about the development, including its potential health and visual impacts, as well as the implications for traffic safety and the local environment.
