Veteran non-executive director excited by “huge and vital role” gas has to play in the UK
Gas distribution network cadent has appointed a new board chairman.
Sir Adrian Montague CBE is currently the non-executive chairman of insurance company Aviva, Manchester Airports Group and The Point of Care Foundation, a charitable trust.
Cadent chief executive Chris Train said that he was pleased to welcome Sir Adrian on board.
“His experience and knowledge of working with utility companies, regulated businesses, government departments and shareholders will be invaluable to our business and I look forward to working with him,” he said.
Sir Adrian added that it is an “exciting” time to be joining the company.
“Gas has a huge and vital role to play in the country’s energy mix, both now and in the future. Cadent is at the leading edge of exploring technologies to deliver an affordable, sustainable and low carbon future.”
Cadent is the name assumed by the gas distribution network after it was sold by National Grid in March this year – it was formerly known as National Grid Gas Distribution.
The firm is now involved in an ongoing rebranding process.
