The Department of Energy and Climate Change (Decc) alongside Ofgem have announced two new appointments to the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (Gema).
Rachel Fletcher has been named as executive director for a period of seven years and Christine Farnish as non-executive director for five years.
Fletcher joined Ofgem in 2005 to head the retail market team and has since moved to the lead for the CMA energy markets inquiry. She is now senior partner for the Consumers and Competition Division.
Farnish is currently chair at Peer to Peer Finance Association, non-executive director at Ofwat and AXA Group stakeholder Advisory Panel Member, amongst other roles.
GEMA is Ofgem’s governing body.
