A new environment and climate change minister has been named following a cabinet reshuffle by Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond.
Paul Wheelhouse, a member of the SNP, will take over as the energy and climate change cabinet secretary, replacing Stewart Stevenson.
First Minister Salmond said he was “particularly grateful” to Stevenson for “championing Scotland’s world leading climate change legislation” before praising the “unique talents” that Wheelhouse will bring to the post.
Born in Belfast, Wheelhouse gained an honours degree in Economics from the University of Aberdeen and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh, and specialises policy evaluation and economic appraisal, and impact assessment of capital projects.
