Northumbrian Water has added an 1.9MW solar array capable of generating 1.9GWh of electricity annually to a treatment works near Durham as it seeks to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2027. It is the first of six installations planned for this year that will bring the company's solar capacity to 18MW by the end of 2022.
