Northumbrian Water is set to launch a website next week updating residents about a £2.5 million sewer upgrade.
The company’s community portal will go live on Tuesday (5 May) and will give residents in north Tyneside access to real-time updates of the 52-week project.
The work will upgrade 1.2km of drainage by increasing the size of the existing sewer network and by installing new surface water pipes, and aims to reduce the flooding risk in the area.
On the dedicated website, residents will be able to find project-related news, check traffic management and receive general information and support throughout the scheme.
Northumbrian Water project liaison officer Meshi Taka said: “We are committed to reducing the risk of flooding to our customers’ homes and businesses in the north Cullercoats area.
“We put customer service at the heart of our business and the new Northumbrian Water community portal is a great place to go to for advice and to find out how the work in this area is progressing.”
