Octopus Energy has been named Utility of the Year at the industry’s flagship awards ceremony.
The winners of the Utility Week Awards 2022 were unveiled on Tuesday (6 December) at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel by celebrity host Jo Brand.
Companies celebrating the achievements of their teams throughout the year included Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), which triumphed in two categories – Collaborative Excellence and Employer of the Year.
The inaugural Cost of Living Award was won by United Utilities for its Water Without Worry scheme.
Former Ofwat chairman Jonson Cox was announced as the industry champion at the ceremony.
Utility Week editor James Wallin said: “After a challenging year, it was great to recognise the achievements of individuals and teams across the utilities sector.
“Our finalists highlighted the dedication, innovation and compassion shown by staff across the sector and in partner organisations this year. We were particularly keen to showcase the hard work that has gone into providing support for those who need it most, through our dedicated Cost of Living Award.
“There were some tough decisions to make in picking the winners across these 13 categories, which is testament to the high quality of the submissions. Congratulations to all our finalists and to those who took home a trophy.”
