OEP criticises Defra for missed review deadlines

Government has “widespread and systemic” problems meeting requirements of environmental law, the Office for Environmental Protection has found. The OEP said the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs had failed to complete legally required post-implementation reviews to evaluate laws. Of 56 pieces of legislation to review, 49 were not completed on time.
