The government should investigate scrapping the existing framework of competitive auctions for offshore wind CfDs (Contracts for Difference), the sector’s champion Tim Pick has urged. Pick warned that the win/lose nature of auctions inhibits developers from investing in infrastructure or securing supply chain partners at an early stage.
