Ofgem has launched a new online tool to help the energy industry identify areas that are eligible for support under the Carbon Savings Community Obligation (CSCO) element of the Energy Company Obligation (Eco).
Energy suppliers, consumers, and the wider supply chain, can enter their postcodes on the website to check if their areas are eligible for energy saving measures under the CSCO.
The CSCO requires energy suppliers to install insulation measures in properties in areas of low income and in vulnerable households in rural areas.
Ofgem said the online tool “enables easy data retrieval, including through maps and exports and can be used remotely through a tablet or smart phone”.
The search tool also provides results for Eco’s updated versions Eco1.2 and Eco2.
A 33 per cent reduction to the Carbon Emissions Reduction Obligation (Cero) element of Eco was confirmed by the government in October (Eco 1.2), and the government has also extended the Eco scheme until March 2017 (Eco2).
