Ofgem reports record RO shortfall of £276m

There was a record combined shortfall of more than £276.5 million in the Renewables Obligation (RO) buyout funds for 2020/21, Ofgem has stated. The shortfall was a result of 37 energy suppliers failing to meet their total obligation by the deadlines of 31 August for buyout payments and 1 September for Renewables Obligation Certificates.
