National Grid Electricity System Operator (ESO) will be instructed to launch and lead one or more task forces to examine and address the root causes of the unpredictability of electricity transmission charges, Ofgem has announced following a call for evidence. The regulator said this will enable short term changes to be enacted whilst it undertakes a “significant programme of work” looking at the longer-term purpose and structure of the charges.
