Ofgem slammed for allowing forced PPM installs before publishing review

Ofgem should have waited for the completion of its review into practices surrounding prepayment meters (PPM) before allowing suppliers to resume forced installations, a fuel poverty campaigner has said. It comes as the regulator revealed that Scottish Power, EDF and Octopus can now install PPMs with a warrant to recover customer debt, following a moratorium. Speaking to Utility Week Simon Francis, coordinator of the End Fuel Poverty Coalition, described the decision as "outrageous".
