Ofgem has made a contingency decision to shorten the notice period for the introduction of a new price cap and delay the observation window accordingly. In a letter to suppliers, Ofgem’s director of retail Neil Lawrence explained that a recent consultation revealed “significant support” for a reduction in the notice period, whilst acknowledging there are a “number of practical issues to work through”.
