Ofwat has confirmed it will raise the price cap for small business customers from April next year. Following consultation the regulator is increasing the cap more than previously suggested after gathering extra data and information from suppliers. The new cap of £43.91 applies to non-household customers that use less that 0.5Ml annually and do not engage with the market. Ofwat said for this group, which accounts for around 85% of business customers, competition was not working effectively.
