On the Move: Ex-Centrica director joins Affinity

Steve Crabb, the former director of consumer vulnerability for Centrica, has joined Affinity Water as head of strategy and engagement.

Crabb spent five years at Centrica and sat on the senior leadership team. Prior to that he had a number of roles in communications and journalism.

For the past year he has worked as a consultant, including stints advising energy supplier Bulb and Ofwat on their approach to customer vulnerability.

Elsewhere Doug Webb has been named as non-executive director at United Utilities and will join the company’s nomination and audit committees.

Webb, who assumes the role from 1 September, sits as non-executive director at chemicals company Johnson Matthey and has board and financial experience at the London Stock Exchange, Sergo and Meggitt.

Chair David Higgins said: “Doug has extensive career experience in finance, he qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse and has held several roles as CFO of listed companies. Additionally, his experience as a non-executive director and audit committee chair will strengthen the board’s financial expertise. We are delighted to appoint him as a non-executive director.”
