Mike Nugent, EC Harris
Career history: economist and management consultant, but also e-business and IT director for Saint Gobain Building Distribution UK between 2000 and 2004. Now responsible for growing and developing EC Harris’ presence in the water sector globally.
What was your first job?
Working in a bakery on a Saturday morning starting at 5am for eight hours straight. I did not last long.
What are the best and worst parts of your job?
Best: finding great solutions to problems our clients face and delivering tangible change and improvement. Worst: unproductive meetings.
What’s your dream job and why?
CEO of Tottenham Hotspur because I am clearly a masochist.
What’s your most treasured possession?
Not really a possession, but my family are the most important thing.
Where did you last go on holiday?
Paris for three days with my family during half term.
In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you?
Brad Pitt, obviously.
Reveal something about yourself not many people know.
I was taught the forward-defensive stroke by Mike Gatting.
What album is currently in your car CD player?
Tourist History, Two Door Cinema Club.
What’s your favourite film and TV programme?
Film: Fight Club. TV programme: The Killing (Forbrydelsen).
What quote or saying do you most overuse?
“Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.”
If you ruled the world, what would you do first?
I would focus on something worthy such as ensuring everyone had enough food and drink to live – and then make sure Spurs won the Premier and Champions League.
What’s your favourite joke?
I have a terrible memory for jokes and only remember the really inappropriate or bad taste ones, so I won’t be revealing one here.
