What was your first job?

Santa’s helper in Debenhams at Christmas (quite a while ago).

What are the best and worst parts of your job?

Best is winning a new contract because of the opportunities it will give people to grow their careers. Worst is when I’m told we’ve had an accident.

What’s your dream job and why?

I’ve always fancied being a farmer. I like Countryfile on TV and the sun is always shining on “Adam’s Farm”.

What’s your most treasured possession?

My family (not sure they’re a possession, though).

Where did you last go on holiday?

Croatia. It was great – good weather, nice people… and cheap.

In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you?

Harrison Ford – my wife likes him.

Reveal something about yourself not many people know.

I’m keen on karate and help coach children twice a week.

What album is currently in your car CD player?

French for Beginners. It’s been there for about three years – I prefer listening to the radio.

What’s your favourite film and TV programme?

Favourite film is American Beauty. TV programme is Time Team.

What quote or saying do you most overuse?

“Onwards and upwards!”

If you ruled the world, what would you do first?

Build the Severn Barrage – a fantastic source of green energy.

What’s your favourite joke?

As a Yorkshireman living in Scotland (who has a reputation for being “careful” with money), I like the definition of a Yorkshireman: “A Yorkshireman is a Scotsman with his generosity removed.”
