Brief career history: programmer, systems manager, systems consultant, analyst/consultant. I founded The Bathwick Group, for which I am still chairman, and co-founded Change London last year. New charity Energy Aid aims to eliminate global energy poverty by 2030.,
What was your first job?
Programming and working on multiple systems (like PDP-11s and System 34s) for a manufacturing consultancy.
What are the best and worst parts of your job?
Best – creating an international charity from scratch by building collaboration across multiple actors in the energy and finance sectors. Worst – not being able to move as fast as I would like.
What’s your dream job and why?
I think the things I’m doing are dream jobs. But Bernie Eccleston’s job (and money) would be quite good.
What’s your most treasured possession?
Everything my children have made for me. Soppy, but true.
Where did you last go on holiday?
Key West.
In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you?
George Clooney. And I’m prepared to play him in the film of his life, if he asks.
Reveal something about yourself not many people know.
I can’t snowboard. Although there are quite a few people who already know that in Davos, and at my local hospital.
What album is currently in your car CD player?
There are six of them, but the only two I can remember are Taylor Swift and Brahms Violin Concerto No. 2.
What’s your favourite film and TV programme?
Film: It I had to choose, The Godfather, Lawrence of Arabia, The Usual Suspects, Das Boot and Pulp Fiction. I don’t have TV but I have seen a fair few TV series on DVD so … West Wing.

How hard can it be?
If you ruled the world, what would you do first?
Look for a better candidate.
What’s your favourite joke?
The face of a child can say it all. Especially the mouth part of the face.
