You’ve got to be in it to win it, so get on board and get the recognition you deserve, says Lucinda Dann.
The Utility Week Awards are an excuse to break out the finery and enjoy an industry-renowned night out, but it is also an important opportunity to reflect on a hard year’s work within the utility industry.
With utilities proving time and again their dedication and ambition, it’s a privilege to host a celebration of the year’s stand-out performances, whether in a great media campaign, community initiative or technology application. Year on year, there are always achievements worthy of being singled out and held up among peers from the sector.
The Utility Week Awards recognise all the disciplines a utility business needs to thrive, from the Utility of the Year award, to more niche areas such as staff development and excellence in streetworks.
More than 1,400 guests attended last year’s ceremony and more than 200 companies from the industry were represented. These awards, held at London’s plush Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s West End, give utilities the precious opportunity to gain the public recognition they deserve. The waiting as the shortlist is read out can be tense on the night, but the winning makes those endless seconds worth it. However, to win it, you’ve got to enter, so don’t miss an opportunity that only comes round once a year. The Utility Week Awards 2015 will be held on 14 December, and if that date seems far off, the deadline for entering is looming much closer, the 4th of September.
To find out how to enter, visit: www.utilityweekawards.co.uk, where you will also find an entry from that can be filled out free.
