Edinburgh-based Pelamis Wave Power has published a scientific paper that it says proves power capture and cost benefits from its line absorber principle.
The paper extends existing wave power theory and answers important questions on wave power absorption limits, said the firm. Furthermore, the paper suggested practical engineering constraints could lead to cost effective scaling up, construction efficiencies, savings on grid connection and also on the maintenance of line absorber wave power machines compared to point absorbers.
