The Future System Operator (FSO) risks being overburdened with responsibility when it goes live in the next few years, a National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) director has warned. Ben Godfrey said Ofgem’s proposal to hand the FSO responsibility for co-ordinating local energy system plans threatened to duplicate planning functions already with the remit of networks and over-burden the new body.
