A "complicated, ambiguous and obstructive" regulatory system has been called out as a barrier to water recycling systems being widely used. The Drinking Water Inspectorate assessed existing systems in the UK and called for more clarity around rules to give confidence to property developers to include such systems in water-stressed areas.
