The Scottish Government has launched a £10million fund to help deliver hundreds of energy efficient, affordable new homes.
The greener homes innovation scheme will be used to invest in modern methods of construction and materials and applying them to new-build homes, as well as retrofitting them to existing houses. The fund has been divided into a £5million grant and a £5million loan.
Deputy minister and cabinet secretary for infrastructure investment and cities, Nicola Sturgeon hopes the scheme will make “more fuel efficient housing widely available”, “help to cut energy bills and tackle fuel poverty”.
