Scottish government targets 2030 ban on sale of new gas boilers

The Scottish government has set a 2030 target date for banning new gas boiler sales but given private landlords more time to improve the energy efficiency standard of properties they let out. The Holyrood government’s Heat and Buildings strategy, published on Thursday (7 October), includes a pledge of legislation during the current Parliamentary term to require the installation of zero or very near zero emissions heating systems in existing buildings.
