Scottish Water installs first large-scale battery system

Scottish Water has added four vanadium redox flow batteries to its wastewater treatment site in Perth as part of its efforts to reach net zero by 2040. The company said they will enable it to use around 94% of the electricity generated by the 1MW solar array at the plant, including to power electric vehicle rapid charging points.
