Scottish Water workers begin a walk out today after voting in support of strike action. Union members rejected a pay deal and negotiations failed to resolve the issue of restructuring pay grades that included an 8% rise. Industrial action is set to continue for three months but the water company promised contingency plans would ensure essential services are maintained.
